An organic rather than a stone, as it’s the fossilised resin of a coniferous tree. Flecks inside are air bubbles, where the sap rolled down the branches of the tree, eventually becoming heavy, falling off and solidifying over the course of time. It can often contain inclusions, where the sticky sap has trapped leaves or flies.
