So much of the muse for the collections is the natural world. Certainly in the year that the Sprite started, we were suddenly all appreciating nature more than ever as the world as we knew it was put on pause in lockdown – the sky looked more blue, we saw more bees and walked in more parks than in living memory. Our childhood imaginations came alive, with nature providing the backdrop for all the magic around us that was awakened by the strange circumstances we found ourselves in. So why on earth wouldn’t jewellery reflect so many of the incredible flowers, wildlife and designs all around us? The Sprite has put Mother Nature at the heart of the business.
The jewellery collections themselves contain so many nods to nature. We have leaves, flowers & trees. And butterflies, bees & birds. Then there’s the names of the pieces, with beautiful countries, cities and tropical paradise islands all providing inspiration. Trees, flowers and spices also feature – well, it’s all so much more imaginative than “Square Earring” isn’t it!
And, of course, we also make full use of Mother Nature’s art gallery in the visual merchandising & photography of the jewellery. Crystals – especially geodes - flowers, leaves and petals all providing stunning backdrops for the necklaces, earrings, pendants, rings and wristwear. Jewellery is often presented in a very austere and minimalist way, but The Sprite feels that beautiful things deserve to keep the company of other beautiful things.
